This is an adapter plate designed to mount gadgets with a 17mm mounting hole to a 4 hole AMPS pattern plate like a RAM Mounts plate or vice versa. For example, you can use your Garmin Nuvi base in a RAM mounting plate. The Nuvi base fits snugly, but it can move with sudden movements.
