Smart home products have begun to become standard fixtures in most homes. In this context, one often also wants to set up various products so they are positioned optimally for Wi-Fi signal or just to maintain a tidy home.
Mounting brackets rarely included
In this regard, it can be difficult to find the right mounts for the many different products, if they even exist. This is due both to the speed at which they come to market and because the market for some of the models can be relatively small. When this is combined with the fact that brackets seldom come with the product, it can be quite challenging to find the right mounting bracket. It typically ends up with the product lying around on a table or shelf where there is just enough space for it.
Advantages of installing smart home products
As already mentioned, there are several advantages to getting the smart home product off the table/shelf and onto a wall or ceiling, including:
- It provides better coverage
- You save space on your shelf or table
- The product can be more easily 'put out of sight' behind, for example, a television or table
- It allows for easier accessibility to the products, if they would otherwise be stored in a drawer/cabinet somewhere when not in use
- It becomes an easier integrated part of the home, such as when using a module for a Philips Hue dimmer switch so it looks like a 'normal' switch
