iPad / iPhone Dock for Thick Case with Speaker and Microphone Redirection
Highlights
This is a dock for iPad/iPhone designed to accommodate an iPad in a very thick case. The case can fold back to fit into the dock and be used as a digital photo album when docked. An insert has also been added for use when an iPhone or iPod is docked to support it in the deep opening. Generally, this design is for a person who has an iPad that fits into an opening approximately 5 mm forward of the center line for the 30-pin connector, and 15 mm behind it. I added a semicircular opening to allow the use of the home button when a device is docked. The hexagonal holes protruding from the front of the dock are intended to redirect sound from an iPhone's speaker and toward an iPhone microphone.
