This compact housing is designed to integrate a 3.5mm female audio jack, making it possible to make the fixed cable on your Audio Technica ATH-M50s headphones detachable. This modification provides increased flexibility and convenience in managing your headphone cables.
Unlike modifications that require internal alterations to the headphone cabinet, this external housing mounts securely on the outside. This preserves the original integrity of your headphones while upgrading their functionality. The housing is compatible with a range of standard 3.5mm audio plugs, typically those with an outer diameter of about 8mm and a length of 16mm from the tip to the end of the black part.
This solution allows users to easily replace cables, extend the lifespan of the headphones by quickly being able to replace a damaged cable, or simply use different cable lengths or types according to specific needs.
