Simple and cheap (but very useful) 19" rack mount for Raspberry Pis. The extra parts needed are:
- 4 x 10mm M3 Screws (4 per caddy)
- 4 x M3 Nuts (4 per caddy)
- 8mm x 450mm Aluminum rod
- (Optional) Superglue
I bought my rod from a local hardware store, it cost around £5 for 8mm x 1000mm. I fitted this to the 19" opening in my server rack, marked it and cut it down. 1 x 1m rod is fine for one of these rack mounts (multiply as needed).
The product is designed so that the bars fit into the ear, but you can use a bit of super glue to make it extra strong.
You can fit 5 - 6 Pi's in the 1U space if you use corner power adapters. In my case I can only fit 4 due to the length of the power cables.
The caddy design allows you to pull the Pi out for maintenance without needing to disassemble the entire assembly.
