Adapter for Briggs Vanguard and Kohler Carburettor

This adapter is designed to enable the installation of a Kohler Command Keihn carburettor on Briggs Vanguard engines. The purpose of this adaptation is to address issues with 'dead spots' or hesitation in the engine's response during rapid throttle transitions, a phenomenon often observed with single-barrel carburettors without an accelerator pump. By using a Kohler Command Keihn carburettor, which typically includes an accelerator pump, users can achieve a significantly smoother and more immediate throttle response, improving the driving experience.

The adapter is designed to fit the two-barrel Vanguard intake manifold found on 20hp and 23hp engines. If the modification is to be performed on a 12-18hp Briggs Vanguard engine, it is necessary to obtain a 20hp manifold, as the 23hp intake manifold is not compatible with the smaller engine variants. This solution offers a practical way to optimise engine performance for a range of applications, including certain types of car and boat accessories, as well as other vehicles and machinery where these engines are used. It is worth noting that although the adapter can be used, durability should be considered in environments with constant high temperatures, as materials such as PLA may not be optimal under such conditions.
