This is a drilling jig designed specifically for front-mounted Blum hinges that has two main functions. First, it can be used to mount the plate in the cabinet by measuring where you want to mount the plate, setting the jig and drilling the holes. Secondly, it can also be used to locate the correct hole for the hinge in the door.
To drill the hinge hole, mark where the holes should be, screw the jig in place and use a 35mm Forstner drill bit. If you do not possess this drill, you may be able to use a router with a top carrier, but it should be noted that the jig is not designed for this method.
Blum also sells clip-mounted hinges. To prepare this type of hinge, simply drill the hole and then drill the holes for the clip mount where you screwed the jig.
