This stand for Lenovo Thinkpad E495 (E490) fulfills three important purposes:

It gives your laptop an angle for a more comfortable typing experience.
It improves convection cooling when the fan is off as it raises the laptop and doesn't block any vents.
If you use the DELL WD15 dock, it protects the USB-C port, which is very long and puts a lot of force on the connector.

The stand may also work for models other than the E495. Let me know if it is so I can add it to the title. It probably works for the E490 as well.
